BALLOONING AS A SPORT

These days ballooning is a very popular sport, and one that is constantly growing. A lot of balloonists compete in races and try to outdo each other on speed records and duration distances, ie: fastest speed achieved in a balloon and longest duration in the air in a balloon.



Some enjoy the thrill of ballooning on unorthodox terrain as we can see above where the balloon is flying in arctic conditions. It is possible to rank ballooning up there with outdoor sports such as hiking and off road mountain biking.
